According to the legend, long ago a
blacksmith lived in Old Riga, making
wonderful items for everyone. His
works were so good, people said
they brought happiness and joy.
Since the smith had his hands full
he decided to forge a lamp of happiness,
because happiness is like light
— you can’t pocket it, it shines upon
everyone.
