DUBSTEP.LV is a blog devoted to the Latvian dubstep scene. At Skanu mezs it is presented by dj's onishi and SairaM (a Latvian name misspelled by an American). Dubstep.lv is one newer forces behind Latvian underground dance and electronic music scene that has in various mutations been evolving since rave culture in mid-90ies. They are also connected to the dubstep radio programme DabSolis that is regulary transmitted on radio NABA.

dubna is Latgalian left-field electronic music project that was launched in 2003. In most of it's compositions reggae and hip hop clichés are fused with psychedelic moods of dub music and the nostalgia for the Soviet world order. Concert at Skanu mezs will be the first one in many years.

Rasols is a popular Latvian salad, and Rasolnik is the name of traditional Russian soup; the recipes of both allows endless combinations of ingredients and possibilities to experiment. At the same time, Rasols is the weekly show on Radio Naba 93.1 FM, and Rasoļņiks are impromptu freeform back2back Cross Genre Mashup mixes done by the show hosts, free from stylistic constraints and generously spiced with weird sounds, spoken words, acapellas and FX. Rasoļniks is usually cooked by: Arno (CEO of Daba organization, DJ, organizer of countless festivals and events, blogger, insightful music and video collector); Bombey (seasoned, popular and on-demand DJ, able to ignite any party or put the crowd to deep meditation depending on the goal, possessing vast vinyl colelction of very different music); Gosh aka DJ Snobo (formerly active participant of the Riga underground music scene in the 90s - Yaputhma Sound System, Pasaki Onkuliem Ata, many other bands and solo, who turned to DJing after finishing producing music). All members have wide music perspectives and dig deep in the crates.

Lehitkarnef is a solo project by Andrejs Zalitis containing elements of digital and analogue noise, ambient, power electronics and field recordings. He is also a member of the psychedelic improvisation band 1/2H 1/2W, noise/freejazz duo Streets of Sex and shitcore/no-fi trio xanalhandjobcrewx. One of his latest and most promising outings is research and assistance to Latvian noskills trashmusic artists like dj.immanuel un mc meggy. During Lehitkarnef concert at Skaņu me˛s one will hear specifically unpretentious coctail of rythmic noise, moderate ambient and un musique concrete.

Monkeymusician is one of the most prolific artists from the quietly flourishing Latvian instrumental hip-hop community. He produces music since 1999, he used to rap, but nowadays he makes instrumental lo-fi hiphop inspired by jazz and booze. He has issued two full-length albums and 3 ep's.

Bulimic Orgy and Mile is an electronic music project based on sample features, born in Latvia as a result of a long-term unemployment, combining common and not so common interests of two minds. The main idea is to create atmospheric chilled beats using samplers and rhythm machines, fighting the modern tendency to employ user-friendly computers.
