RECITAL GÜNTHER GROISSBÖCK

Günther Groissböck, currently one of the world’s most outstanding bass singers, will give his first ever solo performance in Latvia. Accompanied by pianist Alexandra Goloubitskaia, he will sing in the Great Hall of the Latvian National Opera and Ballet, with the iron curtain down, which will provide unique acoustics for the performance of chamber music.

The Austrian Groissböck is a regular in the world’s leading opera houses – New York, Milan, Munich, Vienna, Paris, Berlin, and elsewhere. He has been a great success at the Salzburg and Bayreuth festivals. The singer’s repertoire includes Baron Ochs von Lerchenau, Boris Godunov, Fasolt, Hunding, Landgraf Hermann, Veit Pogner, King Marke, Gurnemanz, King Heinrich, Daland, Caspar, Water Spirit, Sarastro, Kezal, Rocco, Wotan and Wanderer, Banco, Philip II, and Zaccaria. He is also giving recitals in the world’s leading concert venues. We are proud to welcome Günther Groissböck in Latvia.

The pianist Alexandra Goloubitskaia studied piano in Moscow and Graz. She is much in demand as a soloist concert master and chamber musician. From 2009 to 2015, Goloubitskaia worked in the Dortmund and Hannover operas, as well as performing at the Staatsoper Wien, Theater an der Wien, Salzburg and Bayreuth festivals, Berlin Gastspiele and Komische Oper and giving guest performances. Since 2017, she has been a professor at the Private Music and Art University in Vienna. The collaboration between Goloubitskaia and Groissböck has met with acclaim from critics and the media.
