Latvian National Symphony Orchestra. Mahler 5th and RIX

"Death, which abolishes the traditional division of society," was described by French composer Greif as the inspiration for his concert - death dance - which will be introduced to us by piano quartet RIX. They do not meet with us as often as they are, because every day musicians go to various European orchestras, but every year they meet in Latvia to play something unknown or rarely heard, and a concert for four soloists is indeed a rare event. It's much more common to hear Mahler's Fifth, but all Wisconsin and Venetian admirers will testify that there's nothing more beautiful than Adagietto and you can listen to it over and over again.

RIX QUARTET: Sandis ŠTEINBERGS - violin, Ilze KĻAVA - viola, Reinis BIRZNIEKS - cello, Jānis MAĻECKIS - piano
