Madam Bonbon Ta-dam! The fi rst concept shoe shop
in Riga. It’s not even a shop but an
apartment inhabited by shoes. The
girl’s best friends Nº2 have shamelessly
occupied even the bedroom
and kitchen. Call the shop to order
a private meeting with the footwear
and the beautiful hostess of the establishment
for some girl shoe-chat.
Miit Miit = bicycle shop/cafe/workshop/meeting point/design
studio/weekend parties.
Otra Elpa (Second Breath) (Charity Shop) Second Breath is the concept of sharing and supporting,
through giving away and buying things. Also Otra Elpa is
an insight into Riga’s history as all items—clothes, accessories,
bric-a-brac, interior design items, toys—are
local vintage. Brilliant idea for a souvenir. Also fair trade
produce, lectures and yoga lessons.
Perle (Pearl) Just splendid! Marvellous vintage (read ‘well-travelled’)
handpicked 80’s-90’s fashion piece store/bar club. This
probably is the number one hipsters’ destination in Riga.
Spacious, very well organized interior, funky accessories,
design objects, VHS tapes, also carefully sheltered
soviet bags, belts and shoes. If you’re lucky you may witness
the rare but explosive Perle vintage parties, so you
should defi nitely put on your ‘new’ clothes!
Riija This magnifi cent contemporary Latvian lifestyle concept shop, run by prominent local designers, gathers the
quintessence of local contemporary furniture, interior objects,
textile, tableware and jewellery design. Everything
is made in Latvia (many items are handmade), absolutely
useful and of a very corresponding price. It’s barely impossible
to leave without buying one of those curious
ethno-contemporary goods as a souvenir!
