Biscuit (0 comments)

The creators of Uzbekistana and Navat club are getting more posh and serious with each new spot. This latest one provides mostly top-level Italian cuisine, its standards are checked daily by the picky Italian diplomatic mission, which is housed right above the restaurant. The young, but already experienced chef, Mikhail Markin, was especially invited from Moscow to work for this project. The main idea is to keep all classical Italian recipes 100% vero + interesting creations, such as fresh berries in vodka jelly or maracuya creme brulee. Creamy, mellowelegant, romantic/Art Deco influenced interior, white glove service, poshest champagnes, cognacs and wines makes this an occasion worth dressing up for.

Kitchen (0 comments)

Karlis is the chef-fanatic, he always does, thinks and talks only food. After working in many projects and fancy restaurants in Riga and his homeland USA, Kårlis now is obsessed with his KCHN creative gastronomic lab. The small but daily changing pan-continental + nouvelle Latvian cuisine, prepared in the open kitchen, will definitely amaze you. The spot is elegant (but uncommonly for this section) relaxed and easy. KCHN is the new baby of Ostas Skati and Garage restaurateurs, it means that the wine selection is reliable. DJs on Fri and Sat and the Contemporary Art Centre KIM? is all around you.

La Boheme (1 comments)

La Boheme serves diplomatic missions and ordinary gourmands. The place has two different areas and menus. One is an upscale lifestyle cafe (offering also business lunches), the other is the fi ne dining restaurant area, serving an international/French a la carte menu for that classy-evening mood. The new chef now offers a more bohemian, democratic menu.

Le Crab (The Crab) (2 comments)

The rustic yet smart “a la campagne” interior of this spacious classy upscale restaurant and the Old Riga “postcard” window view, invite you to a romantic dinner. Mediterranean favourites such as fi sh and lamb are prepared so professionally, that the food will just smoothly melt on your tongue. An enormous wine list and possibly the best champagne selection in town are proof of the owner’s wine obsession. And, of course, true to its name, the house specialty is crab soup.

Discover Måja residential feeling, eco-local-creative cuisine and the special service. Don’t leave without sampling their superb coffee from the huge and gorgeous mechanical coffee machine.

Neiburgs (2 comments)

Now this is something interesting! Located in a beautiful Art Nouveau building in the soon-to-be-open hotel run by the Neiburg family. The place already evokes the feeling that it has been there forever and that it belongs here. The white and simple interior is saturated with local art (exhibitions change monthly) and with design icon furniture. Serves nouvelle Latvian gourmet cuisine and European classics. Prices are irrisistibly low for that kind of service and food level.

Pinot (1 comments)

Elegant and sophisticated like the Pinot wines, this restaurant/ wine studio/gastronomy shop, defi nitely has its grand bourgeoisie discrete charm. Not loudly luxurious and posh, contemporary classical interior, corresponds ideally with the nouvelle French/Italian inspired menu. The menu proposed by chef Aivis Onzulis (who worked in Michelin restaurants) and the atmosphere will make a perfect framing for refi ned wine and dine sessions. For a take-away gastronomic snack, choose among handpicked French/Italian wines, cheeses and delicatessen, also fresh bakery in the basement floor.

Provence (0 comments)

Despite the name, this high-life establishment is smart and classy. Offers European cuisine with French accents, most ingredients are eco-local and slowly prepared, home-baked bread, home-made butter, topinadas, pates and confits. Also serves game dishes and nouvelle Latvian cuisine. The Provence confectionary (separate space connected to restaurant), deserves an extra mentioning: tiny tarts, home-made cakes and pies = finger-licking!

It is advised to reserve beforehand to enjoy chef Tarass Kiriyenko’s gastronomical miracles. Prepare to experience something a lot more than “just” gourmet dining. Try out the chicken Eskimo, sprat ice-cream or pumpkin sorbet, even the butter dish looks like a flower pot complete with soil and grass. Those hedonist miracles are created from eco local ingridients. The cuisine could be classified as molecular European with French accents.

Small, cozy, family owned gourmet spot. The place where one of the most widely known local TV Chefs Elmars Tannis always finds time to chat with clients, but his charming wife is here to help you make the right choice on the menu. Black elegant/industrial setting, small restaurant ambience and menu concept, displays American downtown cooking approach—small rapidly changing menu includes creative author meals with seasonal/regional + best from abroad ingredients.

Vincents (18 comments)

Since Martinsh first founded Vincents in 1994, his restaurant has grown to become one of the premier gourmet establishments in Eastern Europe. Martinsh is famous for having catered for numerous celebrities such as HRH Queen Elizabeth II, Princes Charles and Andrew, Pierre Cardin, Paco Rabanne etc. He is the President of Slow Food in Latvia. The menu changes constantly, according to the culinary season. They have a superb sommelier and we think that they offer the best service in town. You just can’t miss it!
