ince his debut CD in 2009, Ori Dakari has been on a constant quest for new sounds on his instrument and for further boundaries and added colors and textures to explore for his developing music. Ori Dakari ‘s new quartet is on a path of exploration, fusing the seemingly disparate worlds of modern jazz and the folk music of Israel into one global, complete and full of adventures musical experience.
Ori grew up in Israel and attended the famous Berklee College of Music in Boston. He moved to the United States and studied with jazz masters like Joe Lovano, Hal Crook, Mark Whitfield and others. In 2006 he moved to New York City. In 2009, Ori’s debut CD “Entrances” was released on John Zorn’s label Tzadik Records and in 2014, Ori’s second CD “Solid Ground” was released on Alessa Records. This will be Ori’s second visit to Latvia after playing Rigas Ritmi in 2013.
