Argentine tango.
Surrounded by myths and legends, both music and poetry, dance and art, dating back to the end of the 19th century in the suburbs and harbour pubs of Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Montevideo (Uruguay), it started its’ expansion to the world.
Already in 1912 Argentine tango musicians and dancers performed with great success in overcrowded concert halls of European capitals - Paris, Berlin, London and elsewhere. In 1913 not only Argentine tango started its’ road of fame in USA, but also back home in Argentina came out of pubs to permanently enter the elegant dance halls of Argentina's upper-class society. Directly from Paris Europe became overwhelmed with tango - shows, concerts, theatres, bars, cafes, restaurants, and atmospheric dance halls.
Through wars, revolutions, rises and falls - since September 2009, Argentine tango has been included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Today - in Europe, Asia, Americas ... and, of course, in Latvia, Argentine tango continues both to unite and divide, but definitely - to move, enrich and captivate us on its’ world journey ...

A concert in the real Buenos Aires tango dance evening (milonga) atmosphere – in two parts, with continuous café and bar and the opportunity to meet and see tango dancers from different countries also in the social Argentinean tango.
The concert takes place within the framework of the IV Argentine Tango Festivalito "El Abrazo de Riga * La Primavera 2018".
