Participating in the concert performance together with the accordionist Ksenija Sidorova, her friends from London — the Kazakh pianist Aizhana Nurkenova and the Russian violinist Alexander Sitkovetsky. The London-based choreographer, who studied in Riga, Kirill Burlov, was invited to produce the dance part. His dance partners in the concert performance "Tango Stories" are the Latvian ballerinas Ieva Rācene and Evelīna Godunova.
The music in the concert "Tango Stories" will represent a broad geographic range, starting from Poland, Scotland, Denmark, and Latvia. Melodies of the Old Riga "tango king" Oskars Stroks will be heard, along with a version of "Tango" Arturs Maskats. You will also have a chance to hear music by famous Argentinian composers, such as Astor Piazzolla, who, using jazz, baroque, and classical forms, created a new language of tango music.
