Sinfonietta Rīga and Julia Lezhneva Vivaldi’s and Handel’s apera arias

Julia Lezhneva is one of the most vivid baroque music voices and these days she is especially beloved by baroque music connoisseurs. The soprano with the ‘angelic voice’ says The New York Times, ‘flawless technique’ add the music critics of the Guardian. Julia Lezhneva’s international career began back in 2008 when she participated in the chamber recording of J. S. Bach’s High Mass in B Minor by invitation the skilled French baroque conductor Marc Minkowski. But a whirlwind of success came after her performance in the London Royal Albert hall for the Classical Brit awards where the young musician was invited to perform by dame Kiri te Kanawa.

Lezhneva is the laureate of the Elena Obraztsova International Competition of Opera Singers (2007) and a year later became the youngest competitor to win the Mirjam Helin International Singing Competition in Finland. For the Riga concert she has chosen arias from operas of Antonio Vivaldi and George Frideric Handel that will be complemented by W. A.
