20th International Ballet Festival. Ballet Stars in Jūrmala

20 years ago, the festival was opened by young students Elza Leimane and Anna Laudere, who are now the leading soloists, each in their own ballet theatre.

Anna Laudere will represent The Hamburg Ballet, performing a piece from the ballet performance "Anna Karenina" (Choreography by John Neumeier) together with Edvin Revazov.

The Monte Carlo Ballet (Les Ballets de Monte Carlo), founded by Princess Grace Kelly, will be represented by two soloists - Armenian Victoria Ananyan and Italian Simone Tribuna. Dancers will perform Pas de Deux from the ballet performances "Romeo and Juliet" and "Dov`è la Luna", choreography by the famous Frenchman Jean-Christophe Maillot, head of Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo.

The Stuttgart Ballet will be represented by two leading soloists - Korean Hyo Yung Kang and Canadian Jasson Reilly. Dancers will perform “One of Kind”, choreography by the legendary Jiří Kylián, and “Kazimirs Colours”, choreography by Mauro Bigonzetti.

Croatian Ballet Theatre (Hrvatsko Narodno Kazalište u Splitu) will be represented by two soloists - Ukrainian Ivan Boiko and Nozomi Miura from Japan. Dancers will perform Pas de Deux from the ballet performance “Coppélia”.

Twin sisters Anastasia and Victoria Mihailec (Cестры Михайлец) from Russia.

Soloists from the Latvian National Ballet will also perform in the festival - Elza Leimane, Annija Kopštāle, Jūlija Brauere, Arturs Sokolovs, Kārlis Cīrulis un Kristaps Jaundžeikars with Corps de Ballet, performing pieces from this season’s new performances “Three Musketeers”, “Antonija#Silmači”, as well as the newest miniatures from our choreography.

The closing concert will be hosted by Aivars Leimanis, artistic director of the Latvian National Ballet.
