Getting around
Public Transport
(0 comments)

Riga’s public transport system consists of buses, trams and trolley buses. They run daily from 05.30 until about 00.30 but some of the routes stop their service as early as 22.30. Tickets may be purchased on the public transport from the driver or, on buses, from a “resident” ticket monger (konduktore), costing 0.40 or 0.50Ls. Tickets have to be punched. Travel passes are available from the central post offi ce. The public transport may seem quite complicated to the foreign tourist as there are no clear route schemes neither at the stops, nor inside the transport... we hope that things will get better.

The green light will be on if the cab is free. Taxi charges are based on area and time. The tariff to get in the taxi is 1.50Ls, afterwards you pay 0.50Ls/km.
