Arriving in Riga
At the airport The airport is about 10km south-west of Riga, the highway A10 links it to Jürmala directly. It has recently acquired a totally new modernised look. The express bus Nº22a goes to the centre (near the Opera) for the price of 0.25Ls. The bus will take approximately 20 minutes and it leaves every 25 minutes. There is also a regular bus route Nº22. It leaves every half hour from 05.50 until 23.15 and takes approximately 30-35 minutes. A taxi takes about 15-20 minutes depending on the traffic. The cost for a ride to the centre is about 10Ls.
At the bus terminal The bus terminal is also situated in the centre, next to the train station. The luggage room is open from 05.30 to 23.00. Tram Nº7 will take you to the very centre, which is just one stop ahead. You may choose to walk which may take you 5-10 minutes, at most, to the Old Town.
At the central train station The central train station is located in the centre of Riga (Stacijas laukums) about 5-10 minutes walk away from the Old Town and many major hotels. It has recently been revamped and now offers numerous cafes, shops and a bank outlet. Automatic locker service and luggage room open from 04.00 until 01.00. The information bureau is situated in the main hall, if you get problems in English, perhaps our mini dictionary below can help.
At the ferry terminal The ferry terminal is some 1.5km away from the very centre of Riga. Take trams Nº5, 7 or 9 and go two stops. The tram stop is situated on Ausekl¸a iela in front of the terminal.
